Fresh off celebrating her nineteenth birthday over the weekend, British pop sensation and former contestant on “The X Factor” Cher Lloyd visited the 101.5 Coca-Cola Live Lounge Monday afternoon. Cher talked with JD about her new album, how she deals with cyberbullying and performed an acoustic version of her hit single, ” Want You Back“.
Since becoming a celebrity, Cher unfortunately has had her share of cyberbullies who’ve said some very negative and nasty comments about Cher, even sending Cher’s Mom a death threat on her birthday.
” I mean some people always have an answer back to me and say its my own fault because I’m in the public eye”. Cher quickly fired back to that criticism with her British accent becoming more agitated. “Not it ain’t my fault. It ain’t my fault people have nasty things to say. And at the end of the day I ain’t having that. I’m not having people try knock me down. It’s not happening. And that’s how I feel about it”.
So what did Cher do this weekend to celebrate her 19th birthday? Sounds like she did what any typical 19 year-old teenage girl would do. Shop! But what exactly to did she splurge on? “Some more clothes to add to my collection, some more shoes. Just lots of stuff.” says the pop singer.
Cher Lloyd’s debut album, “Sticks + Stones” will be coming out September 18th but don’t expect any big features on the album says Cher, “Nah, I’m just doing me. It’s just gonna be me.”
